A Drum Program is set up a bit differently than non-drum Progs. This page shows the complete settings for a typical Drum Prog, A09:Total Kit.

Wave Shaping is a selectable way of modifying the Kit's sound. Technically, it distorts the signal, but not necessarily the type of distortion you associate with guitars or bad speakers.
