Setting Up Your Personal Web Site
As an Indra's Net customer, you are entitled to free hosting for one personal
Web site, as long as the site is not used for commercial purposes and the
amount of bandwidth transferred does not exceed 1GB per month (additional
bandwidth will be charged $2.50/GB per month). The amount of disk space
your Web files may use depends on your disk quota (1MB for Basic
Account, 3MB for DSL or Unlimited Dial-up); extra MBs will
be charged $1/MB per month.
To create your personal web space, please use the following form.
Uploading Your
Web Pages
The next step is to upload your Web pages from your home computer into
the new directory you just created on the Indra's Net server. You accomplish
this using an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program, which you can download
from our Downloads page if you do
not already have one. Our support document Using FTP To Update Your Web Site
contains detailed instructions on how to to use FTP to transfer your new
HTML files to your home directory to make them active.
Accessing Your Web Site
Now, from your favorite browser, type in the Web address
http://www.indra.com/~<username>
to see your completed site. If you have recently uploaded a new version,
you may need to reload your browser in order to display the updated version.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact us.
