For many, ISDN remains the best solution for their high-speed access needs. ISDN is a point-to-multipoint service, where the customer dials their ISP to establish either a dedicated or nondedicated connection to the Internet. Each ISDN line has two "B" channels, each of which supports 64kbps of bandwidth. So a single ISDN line can offer a connection at either 64 or 128kbps.

Indra's Net offers a full range of ISDN products:

  • Demand-dial ISDN
Similar to DSL Broadband, Demand-dial ISDN provides you with one dynamically assigned, public IP address. The IP address is re-assigned each time you dial in, and you have the option to enable either one (64k) or both (128k) channels. The service requires an ISDN TA or router, and an ISDN line from Qwest.
    • Single-channel (64k) ISDN is similar in speed and functionality to our Unlimited Dial-up service.
    • Dual-channel (128k) ISDN allows two simultaneous connections and is similar in functionality to our Unlimited Dial-up service, but providing a little over twice the speed.
  • Dedicated ISDN
Similar to Server DSL, Dedicated ISDN offers an always on connection to the Internet with no timeout. The service comes with 8 (5 useable) public IP addresses with the ability to upgrade to 16, 32, 64, or 128.

Although the ISDN services oultined above work for 95% of our ISDN customers, we are willing to work out custom technological and pricing solutions, including mixed voice & data B-channel usage, custom routing & security configurations, nailed circuits, and 4+ channel bonding for speeds of 256kbps and above. Discounted per-channel pricing is available for solutions involving more than 2 channels. Please contact us for more information!
